𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝟖 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝The Old School Funk and Groove Night is back! Playing classic and rare instrumental grooves from the 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐤, 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐨-𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐨-𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭 music by artists like Jimmy Smith, James Brown, Fela Kuti, Maceo Parker and Earnest Ranglin to name a few. The night ran every Tuesday for a decade at the famous ‘505’ and featured legends of the Sydney scene and visiting international players. The list of players and DJ’s who’ve taken the stage over the years with the band is looong. This night celebrates all those who gave to the nourishing force of groove on stage (and on the dance floor) in Sydney as part of The Old School Funk & Groove Night.
