On Ramp to Pre-ETS

Join us for an engaging workshop designed for families with young explorers aged 11 to 13! Discover the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) available to teens as they step into their teenage years.

What to Expect:

• Collaborative Sessions: Participate in interactive sessions and a mini quest game, fostering engagement through a playful learning experience.
• Skill Development: Students will enhance their active listening, collaborative problem-solving, and crucial soft skills while navigating challenges in the quest.
• Self-Advocacy: Learn to identify and communicate unique strengths that can tackle quest obstacles effectively.
• Parent Involvement: Parents will meet the DSB’s Pre-ETS team, discussing support transitions as their child grows, and attending a session about technology troubleshooting at home.
• Physical Quest: Experience the transition from game to reality as students navigate the DSB Seattle Office to find important locations and practice Orientation and Mobility skills.
• Outdoor Navigation: Challenge students with navigating paths to the nearby light rail station, building confidence for daily commutes.
