Join us for the Australian debut of Saul Williams meets Carlos Niño & Friends—an extraordinary live collaboration that transcends the boundaries of concert, ceremony, and collective listening.

This performance is a unique improvised experience, combining spoken word, ambient jazz, and experimental sound in a way that defies traditional structure. As described, this sound ceremony organically unfolds, being shaped by the environment, musicians, and the moment rather than a setlist.

Carlos Niño, a talented percussionist, producer, and composer, emphasizes collaboration and improvisation, focusing on texture and emotional connectivity in his work. His extensive background includes collaborations with renowned artists like André 3000, traversing the realms of spiritual, jazz, and experimental music.

Saul Williams is the heart of this performance—an acclaimed poet, writer, actor, filmmaker, activist, and musician. He elevates spoken word, employing language as both resistance and invocation. With a career spanning over two decades in poetry, alternative hip-hop, and interdisciplinary art, Williams' direct and visceral delivery engages with themes of political reflection, history, and spiritual inquiry, all while the music adapts around him.

The soundcape is both expansive and intimate, featuring hand percussion, gongs, chimes, breathy flutes, looping saxophones, and subtle electronic tones. This collaboration was originally recorded outdoors at Coldwater Canyon Park in Los Angeles with a seven-piece ensemble.

Together, Williams and Niño create a space that values presence over performance—this is not just a concert but a shared experience that invites your full attention.

We pay our respects to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, acknowledging their custodianship of these lands, waters, culture, and their elders—past, present, and emerging.
