Senior Camp 'Enumeration, Permutations, Recursive Patterns & Wi-Fi Controlled Robot'
Join us for an exciting Senior Camp where mathematics meets robotics! This program will guide participants through the fascinating world of Combinatorics, exploring hidden structures in numbers and developing solid foundational skills in counting.
🔍 What You’ll Learn:
- Discover patterns and organize data using lists, tables, and diagrams!
- Engage with Pascal’s Triangle to uncover the intricate rules of mathematics.
- Explore the fascinating role of symmetry in mathematics and how it simplifies complex problems.
- Tackle real-world challenges, like coloring squares and cubes, while stepping into the abstract realm of groups in modern mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
🤖 Wi-Fi Controlled Robot Project (Ages 12+)
Build and program a differential drive robot car that you can control wirelessly! Utilize C++ programming and web development languages (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) to create an interactive interface. Your robot will operate through its own Wi-Fi network, allowing control via any device with an internet connection!
- Learn how to process commands and control motors for interactive movement.
- Use a sonar sensor to detect nearby objects and enhance your robot's functionality.
- Complete this take-home project by the end of the camp to showcase your skills!
🚗 Electronics and Remote Controlled Vehicle Project (Ages 7-11)
Younger participants can join an electrifying project involving circuit construction and safety in electronics by building their own remote-controlled car!
- Learn essential remote control functionality and hands-on circuit assembly.
- Demystify components like motors, batteries, and processors while creating a project to present to family and friends!
📚 Mathematics Curriculum:
- Years 3-6: Learn enumeration techniques, leading to formulas for permutations and combinations.
- Years 7-9: Dive into permutations, discovering efficient counting strategies.
- Years 10-12: Explore the world of groups and advanced counting structures like Bell and Stirling numbers.
✨ Each camp features unique content and activities, ensuring that returning campers continue to learn and explore new subjects!
