Shackleton Ground Run (Ysterplaat)

Join the Friends of the SAAF Museum for an unforgettable day celebrating the iconic Avro Shackleton MR1, famously named after Ernest Shackleton! This magnificent long-range maritime patrol aircraft, equipped with 4 engines and contra-rotating propellers, is one of only two left in the world still operational.

Witness the impressive ground run that showcases the roar of the RR/Griffon engines and experience the thrill of aviation history up close.

• Sign in for the ground run between 09:00 - 09:30
