Shut Up & Write!® in Amsterdam / Centre

Join us for an hour of focused writing! It's been shown that writing alongside fellow writers can boost your productivity, and we invite you to experience this at the 7th floor of The Central Library Amsterdam on Wednesday mornings.

Whether you’re working on a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, or poetry, this is the perfect place for you to make progress. 📚

What to Expect:

• 10:30 AM: Quick introductions
• 10:45 AM: Timer starts: write for 1 hour
• 11:45 AM: Wrap up: chat, take off, or continue writing

💡 Latecomers Welcome! Feel free to join in at any time—just settle in and check in with me, the one holding the Shut Up & Write! sign.

After the session, there will be time for conversation and sharing experiences as writers. If you're short on time, no worries!

What to Bring:

• Anything you need to write!
• Earbuds/earplugs to block out café noise 🎧.
• Make sure your devices are fully charged, as we may not have charging options available.

Important Notes:

• If you're new to the library, you might need a few minutes to set up the Wi-Fi using the publicroam app (instructions are available on every table).
• While you’re not required to buy anything, please refrain from bringing your own food and drinks.

A Note on Our Format: This is a spaces without critiques or readings. It's a supportive environment for all writers, regardless of skill level—no one will read or judge your work!
