The beatification ceremony for Jan Bula and Václav Drbola, the first martyrs of modern Czech history, will take place on June 6, 2026, at the Brno Exhibition Center.
Both were executed by the communist regime in the 1950s and are now remembered as witnesses of courage and forgiveness.
On June 6, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Pavilions P and Z at the Brno Exhibition Center will host an all-day open program for the general public – individuals, families with children, young people, and seniors.
The program will include live music, testimonies, theatrical performances, and short reflections. An accompanying program for families with children is also planned, including a children's zone and sports facilities.
The highlight of the day will be a solemn Holy Mass presided over by Cardinal Michael Czerny, a native of Brno, with the participation of priests from the Czech Republic and abroad.
During the day, Petr Špaček & band, Barbora Černošková, Josef Prokeš, Pavel Konzbul, Schola brněnské mládeže – SBM, the band Brouci, and other guests will perform.
Admission is voluntary. Registration is required and ensures a place in the hall and smooth entry without waiting.
