Sleeping Beauty Hike

Join us for an unforgettable adventure on the Sleeping Beauty Hiking Trail in Riversdale, Western Cape! 🌍

Discover the beautifully sculpted Sleeping Beauty Mountain (Mosambiek kop), renowned as one of South Africa's hidden natural wonders. This trail spans 14 km (approximately 6-7 hours) round trip from the old Toll House to the majestic summit of Sleeping Beauty, boasting an elevation gain of ±950m. Rated 7/10 for difficulty, the hike includes charming streams and diverse birdlife as you stroll through the picturesque Fynbos landscape. 🐦🌿

Along the trail, you'll encounter various Protea species, including speciosa, grandiceps, and coronata, alongside the uniquely rare Riversdale Orange Heath (Erica blennagrandiflora). The final stretch is a steep 1.5 km climb to the crest, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Langeberg Mountain Range! 🌈

🛠️ Compulsory Items:

• Lightweight hydration/backpack
• Sunscreen & hat
• Comfortable shoes
• Snacks & sufficient water
• Lightweight windproof jacket, beanie, and gloves (weather-dependent)
• Dress in layers for comfort
• Space blanket, emergency energy bar, bandage, small petroleum jelly (for chafing)

❤️ Planning to hike solo? Meet us at the old Toll House by 5:45 AM. The hike starts strictly at 6:00 AM.
