Soft Landing Socials: After-Work Green Escape 🌳

The other day I did what I like doing the most: getting a little lost on the streets of Budapest.
Then I did what I’m less good at: sitting in silence, without regularly checking my phone - just gazing at the pink-blue-yellow sky, listening to the sounds of nature and the echoes of the city.

It was such a nice evening, with a great walk and a beautiful view, that I thought I’d share it with you.
This will be a very simple, casual Soft Landing Social: a cogwheel ride, a green after-work walk, some pretty streets and villas, occasional views over the city, and hopefully a sunset at Normafa.
The rough plan:
We’ll meet at Városmajor around 19:00–19:10, then take the cogwheel railway at 19:22.
From there, we’ll walk through the green, quiet streets of Svábhegy - with old and new villas, little hidden corners, and occasional views of the city.
We’ll arrive at Normafa around 20:15, just in time for the sunset around 20:45.
After that, we can stay as long as we feel like. Everyone can head home whenever they wish. I walked down the hill last time, which was beautiful because of all the huge and fancy villas, but taking the bus from Normafa is probably the more sensible option - especially as there can be quite a lot of boars in the area.
You can also join us later or at any point of the walk if that works better for you.
What to wear / bring:
The walk is not too long, but please wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
Normafa is usually cooler than the city, so please bring an extra layer. We don’t know the exact forecast yet, so we’ll adjust if needed.
Feel free to bring a blanket, some snacks or drinks if you’d like.
There are some small grocery shops on the way in case we'd need to stop for anything.
A small note:
This is a casual, free community walk, not a guided tour or an official hiking event. Everyone joins at their own responsibility, and the plan may change depending on the weather or anything unexpected.
But hopefully: cogwheel, trees, city views, sunset, and a soft little Budapest escape after work. 🌳
