South Street Seaport Museum Announces City of Water Day

Join us for a fantastic day of free activities at the South Street Seaport Museum for City of Water Day!

🗓️ This annual event champions a climate-resilient New York and New Jersey Harbor, bringing together climate-conscious partners like the Waterfront Alliance. Through various programs across the region, we celebrate the importance of a resilient and equitably shared waterfront, so come be part of the movement!

🖼️ Enjoy free General Admission to the Seaport Museum, allowing you to explore all exhibitions, including The Promise of Liberty: Words That Shaped a Nation and two historic ships at Pier 16. Advanced registration is suggested, but walk-ups will be accommodated as possible. Book your entry here!

📚 Children’s Story Time: We Are Water Protectors by Carole Lindstrom
🕛 12pm | Wavertree | Free
Families with children ages 2 and up are invited to join a special reading of We Are Water Protectors. Following the reading, partake in a hands-on art project that honors Mother Earth. Preregistration is encouraged, and walk-ups will be accommodated. Sign up here!

🌀 Three Belts of Peace: What the Founding Fathers Forgot to Tell You

Join Onondaga leaders of the American Indian Law Alliance for an enlightening discussion on Indigenous diplomacy and governance that shaped the American Revolution. Learn about wampum belts, Papal bulls, and treaties and how they influenced the creation of a colonial government on Indigenous lands. This event is a great opportunity to engage in dialogue and understand how to defend treaties, land, and water. Preregistration is encouraged.
