The 2040 Scientists: A Climate Writing Workshop

Welcome to the intriguing world of "The 2040 Scientists"! In this interactive workshop, set in the year 2040, you'll become part of a team of scientists on a mission to stop a bird virus from spreading to the mainland. 🚨🦠 Navigate through dense jungle terrain, locate the infected bird by its song, and develop a vaccine before it's too late!

This immersive experience blends science with creative writing, encouraging participants to explore their connection to the environment. No prior experience is necessary, and spaces are limited, so grab your chance to be a part of this unique adventure!

🛳️ Getting to the Climate Imaginarium

To reach the Climate Imaginarium, board a ferry to Governors Island. Ferries depart every 15 minutes from:

• Lower Manhattan (10 South Street)
• Brooklyn Bridge Park (Pier 6)
• Red Hook/Atlantic Basin

👉 Arrive 15 minutes early with your ticket ready!
Ferry Fares:

• $5 round trip
• Free for adults over 65, children 12 and under, Climate Imaginarium summer volunteers, and more.
• All passengers ride free before 11 AM on weekends!

Governors Island is also accessible via NYC Ferry. Transfers are available at Wall Street/Pier 11; tickets are $4.50 each way.

Once on the island, disembark at Soissons Landing (from Manhattan) or Yankee Pier (from Brooklyn). Use this map to find your way to Colonels Row. The Climate Imaginarium is located in Building 406A, easily identifiable with a visible sign at the door.
