Join us at the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad for a fun-filled day celebrating the National Day of the Cowboy! 🎉 Dress in your best western attire and enjoy an adventure complete with trains, delicious food, and family activities.

Ride the Rails

Climb aboard a train pulled by our coal-fired steam engine, No. 8419. Choose from:

• Valley View Open-Air Car & Rock Island Caboose: Experience the thrill of the rails—hear the whistle, ring the bell, and feel the ash float!
• Classic Coach Class: Enjoy the vintage 1920s coach cars with bench seating and operable windows.
• Climate-Controlled Bi-Level Car: Stay cool and comfortable as you relax and enjoy the views.

Food & Refreshments

🍗 Chuck Wagon Grub:

• Whatcha Smokin’ BBQ: The local favorite will be serving up their famous BBQ!
• On-Board Concession Car: Stocked with refreshments like ice-cold Gatorade, chilled candy bars, and ice cream.

Games & Activities

• Locomotive Tours: Explore the museum and climb inside the engine room of our classic diesel locomotive, 6540.
• Rubber Duck Scavenger Hunt: Find one of the 75 hidden "Cowboy & Cowgirl" rubber ducks around the depot for a chance to win a raffle prize!
• Fun & Surprises: Enjoy various games and activities throughout the museum and grounds. Keep an eye out for the largest cowboy hat!
