The Boy in the Ocean is a raw and intimate new play that delves into the aftermath of sexual assault through fragmented memory, movement, and storytelling. This one-person performance, supported by a movement ensemble, follows a young man's journey as he attempts to make sense of his memories and navigate the challenges that follow trauma.
Blending naturalistic dialogue with elements of physical theatre, the play transitions between past and present, reflecting the often disjointed nature of memory and healing.
Developed from personal experiences and inspired by true stories, the play critically approaches this difficult subject matter with honesty, contributing to important conversations regarding male experiences of sexual assault, which are frequently underrepresented on stage.
