The Consistent Writer – Generating
A weekly accountability circle for writers
If you're a serious writer looking for a place to share your process, your work, and to stay motivated on the long path of being a writer, this event series is for you. Whether it's journalling, fiction, nonfiction, memoir, or anything else, you'll find a supportive community of writers at Pluto.
The idea is simple: each person gets 5-10 minutes to share what they worked on this week, what excited them, what blocked them, and their goals for the week ahead.
Then, we'll come together as a group to discuss a different stage of the writing process each week.
This week's topic: Finding story ideas, developing a writing habit, getting unstuck, and creating first drafts.
At the end, we'll break into open discussion, where people can gravitate toward the people they connected with. If you're seeking readers, editors, or want to read others' work, this is the time to find each other.
Upcoming Discussion Topics
August 4: Editing
Going through the drafts, the different levels of editing, giving and receiving feedback, and putting the final touches on your manuscript.
August 11: Publishing
Publishing: the traditional route, self-publishing, journal submissions, short-form content, and strategies for building an audience for your work.
Hosted by David K.S. Upadhya and Joanne Szilagyi
Pluto: Fourth Space for Community, Co-Creation, & Coworking, 60 Sumach St Ground level, Toronto, ON M5A 3J7, Canada
