The Golden Williams Duo presents: Music and Art in Dialogue about Extreme Weather Performance

Join the talented Golden Williams Duo, featuring violist Gregory K. Williams and cellist Diana Golden, as they utilize music to reflect upon and engage in meaningful conversations about the pressing challenges of extreme weather in our world.

Performance Highlights:

  • Date: June 28th, 4 PM
  • Venue: Brownson Center, Maple Grove Cemetery (127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens)

  • Enjoy a community art-making workshop led by visual teaching artist Jerri A. Castillo, where attendees will use watercolors to create artwork influenced by the music.

The program features pieces commissioned from acclaimed composers such as Stephanie Leotsakos, Nick Revel, Sunny Knable, Chandler Carter, William Susman, and Dennis Bathory-Kitsz, all addressing historical events linked to extreme weather phenomena like Hurricane Ida and Hurricane Sandy. This event encourages audience interaction through music while exploring the theme of local environmental resilience.
