The Good Stuff: Stories & Songs from Prohibition in Iowa

O události

Join Iowa storyteller, musician, and photographer Jason Walsmith for a captivating presentation on Prohibition in Iowa!

“The Good Stuff” offers an engaging exploration of how one part of Iowa navigated the Great Depression and Prohibition by producing a legendary bootleg whiskey known locally as “the good stuff.” Drawing from numerous interviews and rich family histories, Walsmith delves into the legacy of Templeton Rye, sharing the stories—and the songs—they inspired.

With over 30 years of experience traveling across North America, Jason has toured with his rock band The Nadas, performed solo from Seattle to the Florida Keys, and captured the essence of people and places through photography for various brands and publications. His adventures on the road have become a journey of experiences and stories that connect us all.
