Join us for a Black August celebration exploring storytelling as a practice of Black liberation, hosted by Glenda Smiley & Omavi Shukur.
Since 2014, The Salon has served as a vibrant space where writers, artists, thinkers, and cultural workers come together to share and refine their ideas, build community, challenge each other, and envision a more liberated future.

This year's gathering will emphasize the themes of language, literature, and storytelling as integral practices of cultural memory, resistance, healing, and joy, featuring Joel Léon. The evening promises an intimate conversation, thoughtfully curated food and cocktails, and a kickback celebrating the beauty of community.
