Course Overview:

This introductory course is tailored for massage and bodywork professionals looking to master effective TMJ/D treatments. Gain insights into how cervical dysfunction contributes to TMJ/D. You’ll explore deep cervical and infra/suprahyoid structures while acquiring hands-on experience in intra-oral techniques aimed at relieving pain and dysfunction.

Key Learning Outcomes:

• Understanding the foundation of TMJ/D treatment
• Addressing facial asymmetry and learning introductory buccal techniques for functional outcomes
• Hands-on practice with intra-oral techniques for pain relief
• Explore contraindications and facial maps to guide your practice

Class Itinerary:

1. Segment 1: Discuss contraindications and facial maps that inform treatment.
2. Segment 2: Work on infra/supra hyoid and anterior neck components, including SCM and Platysma.
3. Segment 3: Dive into intra-oral techniques, warming up cheek and gumline fascia, including masseter, deep masseter, pterygoids, buccinator, and more.
