As a member of the Tolkien Society, Alan has presented at the 'Return of the Ring' conference and has traveled to iconic filming locations in New Zealand. He has also participated in the fan film, Born of Hope, while holding various roles in the heritage sector, from managing museum sites to creating immersive Lord of the Rings events.
