Wahlfield Dog Park Grand Opening
Join us for a fun-filled day as we celebrate the grand opening of the Wahlfield Dog Park, the first park in the Kent County system designed with our furry friends in mind!
📅 Date: Friday, July 24
🕚 Time: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Wahlfield Park - North, 7117 M-37, Comstock Park
We'll kick off the festivities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, featuring remarks from Kent County leaders, community partners, and Fritz Wahlfield Jr., whose family has played a significant role in the park's history.
After the ceremony, be among the first to explore the park's incredible offerings, including:
🐾 A dedicated 1-acre area for small dogs
🐾 A 2-acre open activity field
🐾 Crushed stone walking trails through natural areas
🐾 A 1-acre swimming pond complete with a beach and jumping dock
🐾 A family restroom with a convenient dog wash station
The excitement continues with:
🐾 Live K-9 demonstrations by the Sheriff's Office
🐾 Resources and information from the Animal Shelter
🐾 Giveaways for the first 150 canine guests (while supplies last)
🐾 Dog-friendly treats for purchase from Pink Paw Patisserie
This amazing new park is a product of community collaboration, made possible by the support of Kent County, Fritz Wahlfield Construction, private donations, and generous contributions from Fritz Jr. and Liz Wahlfield.
Whether you're a dog owner or simply love seeing happy pups, everyone is invited! We can't wait to see you there — it’s going to be pawsome! 🐶✨
