Indian summer is coming—a kind of spider Christmas—and with it comes excitement, but also hustle and bustle and responsibilities. Dad Webster gets sick from the stress and rush of tasks and loses his ability to spin spider silk. Without him, however, the family would not be able to participate in the most beautiful part of Indian summer - decorating the tree in the yard. Dad must get well, rest quickly! The others divide up his tasks and get to work. When they gather at the festive table in the evening, Dad is much better, but his ability to spin spider silk has not yet returned. Maybe the festive dinner will fix it. Grandma bakes ants, and the Websters relive the most wonderful adventures they have had over the past year.
And then the ant is baked. It turned out great, and it's gone in a flash. Dad is feeling much better, but the thread is still nowhere to be found. The Websters won't be decorating this year. How about at least going to see how others decorate? Lili is definitely not interested and decides to stay home with her dad. When they are alone together, a magical moment arises, which is perhaps only possible in Indian summer, and the most secret wishes come true.
