Every year, there is at least one artist who rewrites the rules of pop. Someone who doesn’t just expand the landscape but alters its emotional temperature. In 2025, that artist is Oklou. With her new album “choke enough”, the French producer, composer, and vocalist delivers a vision so singular it feels less like a release and more like a new coordinate in contemporary music. Classically trained yet driven by an urge to break boundaries, Oklou moves through genres like someone slipping between dream states. Her music distant one moment, direct and disarming the next. And the guests she invites speak volumes: Bladee and FKA twigs, two of the most futuristic artists of their generation, don’t just appear on the album, they affirm Oklou’s place on the new frontier. With Oklou, the future doesn’t arrive with a bang but rather with a quiet shock. This summer at Way Out West, her intimate, surreal world will take physical form in Slottskogen.
