Naturalists from the Kellogg Biological Station, alongside local scientists, will guide you as you explore and document the incredible diversity of life thriving within the sanctuary.

- Participate in both morning and afternoon sessions with a brief tutorial on using the iNaturalist app on your phone.
- Join a diverse field team focused on specific species or opt for self-guided exploration to record your observations.
🌼 Expert Guided Field Teams Include:
- Bees Team: Search for native bees in the prairie.
- Birds (Prairie) Team: Record bird sightings and sounds.
- Butterfly Team: Catch and document butterflies.
- Dragonflies Team: Conduct aerial surveys in wetlands.
- Herps Team: Study amphibians and reptiles (team travels further).
- Living on the Edge Team: Explore organisms in urban settings.
- Aquatic Macroinvertebrates Team: Use leaf packs to trap and count aquatic organisms.
- Bugs in the Trees Team: Capture tree and shrub-dwelling insects.
- Insect Traveling Cross-Country Team: Collect ground-dwelling arthropods.
- Prairie Plants Team: Study changes in plant communities over time.
- Forest Plants Team: Document forest plant communities.
