About HYSO:
Founded in 1989, the Haydn Youth String Orchestra (HYSO) represents the pinnacle of youth string ensembles in the Netherlands, welcoming talented musicians aged 12 to 19. With a commitment to nurturing artistic growth within the European string-playing tradition, many members pursue further studies at esteemed conservatories, including the Prins Claus Conservatoire. Led by conductor Jan-Ype Nota, also associated with the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, HYSO maintains rigorous standards through weekly rehearsals, concerts, and international tours, culminating in about twenty performances a season.
