VILA live: Lunatraktors

Carli Jefferson, known in the Czech Republic for her tap dance and body-percussion-inspired choreography, returns to Prague with her own project, Lunatraktors, an experimental duo operating on the fringes of “broken folk.”

Lunatraktors reimagine Anglo-Celtic traditional music using contemporary rhythms and bass lines. Carli’s eclectic percussive style and body drumming blend with analog synthesizers, whistles, and the overtone singing of her partner, Clair Le Couteur.

The duo is known for its captivating vocal harmonies and deep polyrhythms, which draw inspiration from a wide range of influences, from flamenco to trip hop to cabaret. The result is an acclaimed fusion of ancient energy, traditional heritage, and contemporary folk.
