Znojmo Underground – Civil Defense Shelter Route

Visitors will learn about all forms of underground corridors from their construction to modern history.

The commentary on the new tour route will also offer comprehensive and essential information about World War II, the Cold War, the construction of anti-radiation shelters, and the eventual demise of the civil defense system. The tour, which is almost 700 meters long, is complemented by exhibits such as a chemical protection suit, a gas mask, a functional radiometer, a field telephone, as well as a breathing apparatus, a Spireta V resuscitation device, and chemical detectors. In the corridors, visitors will find information panels with images of original documents, including maps of planned interventions by American intelligence services in the event of an attack.
