Join us for a captivating double feature presented by Los Angeles Filmforum, Black Revivalist, and CaribbeanLens Film Festival! For this special event, we'll showcase films by the talented French-Martinican filmmaker and playwright Julius-Amédée Laou.
We'll screen:
- French Wedding, Caribbean Style (2002) - This seemingly joyous interracial wedding turns chaotic as deep-seated prejudices and family secrets emerge, threatening the couple's big day! 🎉
- The Old Sorceress and the Valet (1987) - Follow the story of Eugénie and Armand, an elderly couple confronting their past and unfulfilled dreams on one final stroll through Paris. 🥀
Both films will feature a pre-recorded introduction by the filmmaker himself!
