A4FC Mini Tule Basket Workshop w/ Tek Tekh #2

Join Alliance For Felix Cove and California Native cultural artist Christi Tek Tekh Gabaldon (Mishewal Wappo) for a mini tule burden basket workshop. This community gathering and weaving workshop will be held at the scenic Stafford Lake Park in Novato, CA, a traditional territory of the Coast Miwok people. 🌳

In this workshop, participants will learn the twine technique to weave a mini burden basket made from tule harvested at Stafford Lake. This traditional vessel, utilized by Indigenous peoples, is used for carrying various materials, including seeds, nuts, acorns, and roots.

What to Bring:

• Lunch: Please bring your own lunch. 🍱
• Other Essentials: Water bottle, hat, sunscreen.
• Optional: Chair or blanket to sit on, scissors, snack or treat to share. 😋

About the Instructor:

Christi Tek Tekh Gabaldon is a California Mishewal Wappo Native cultural artist, TEK practitioner, and traditional dancer. She teaches and shares her California Indigenous culture with various tribal and community groups across California and beyond. 🎨
