An epic journey into the world’s largest rainforest – the Amazon. After a plane crash, Saï, a capuchin monkey born and raised in captivity, finds himself alone and lost in the wilderness of the Amazon jungle. Unprepared, the little monkey feels helpless in the face of sudden freedom. In a new world where dense and lush vegetation covers everything around him, Saï must find his way and protect himself from the dangers of nature. He comes face to face with a wide range of rainforest animals: jaguars, crocodiles, boas, tapirs, and giant otters. He soon realizes that finding other capuchin monkeys and being accepted by them may be his only hope for survival. Amazonia is an extraordinary journey into the heart of the largest rainforest on the planet, filmed in regions that few people have explored. French director Thierry Ragobert and his team spent two years on location capturing breathtaking scenery and the diversity of species living there. The documentary footage was then edited to fit Saï’s story. It is a heroic tale full of drama and overcoming challenges.
