✨ Interact with Voices from History: Meet reenactors and docents sharing insights from figures like Abigail Adams and Benjamin Franklin about the lead-up to the Declaration of Independence.
📜 A Reading of the Declaration of Independence: Enjoy a heartfelt reading of this iconic document by the Alumni Players, where about a dozen performers will bring its powerful words to life!
✍️ Calling John Hancock: Sign a supersized replica of the Declaration!
🔍 Educational Exhibits: Explore various viewpoints of advocates for American independence, as community groups provide information, activities for kids, and handouts—including a special hand-held America 250 flag.
🎂 Decorate a Community Birthday Cake: Help craft a giant birthday cake for America with the Edwardsville Public Library and Edwardsville Children's Museum! This collaborative masterpiece will be displayed before being taken to the Edwardsville American Legion Post 199 for the festival and fireworks.
🎶 Musical Performances: Enjoy patriotic songs by the Great Rivers Choral Society, followed by delightful old-time string band music from the beloved Mound City Slickers. Don’t miss the Edwardsville Symphony’s concert at City Park on Sunday night at 7 p.m.!
