Our Speaker Series continues with the insightful Mike Cassidy, a Master Gardener from Penn State Extension. Dive into the world of historic gardens as he contrasts the practical gardens of Pennsylvania Dutch country with the elegance of Victorian gardens.
🗣️ About the Speaker:
Mike Cassidy, a former state legislator, holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in American Studies from Penn State. His extensive experience includes policy analysis and teaching at Penn State and Temple University. Along with his wife, Jeanne, he has restored two log homes from the 1790s and 1810, creating gardens that nurture birds, bees, and butterflies.
🦋 As a Lancaster County Master Gardener, Mike specializes in:
- Historic gardens
- Native and invasive plants
- Worm education and the Pollinator Library Program
💰 Admission:
- Free for members and students
- $5 for non-member adults
