Join us for an insightful artist talk featuring the internationally renowned Swiss artist Marc Bauer!

Marc Bauer's project, titled "Fear Rage Desire, Still Standing", delves into themes of history, memory, gender, and identity through a queer lens. His work combines art-historical motifs from artists like Hieronymus Bosch and Nasta Rojc with contemporary visual material, exploring the construction of masculinity and the societal violence faced by queer individuals.

Bauer's creative process is on display, with some drawings made directly on the museum walls, which will be revised from November 3–7, 2026. This multimedia installation also features a soundtrack by Sin Maldita (Tim Roth) and Philipp Hülsenbeck.

The talk will include contributions from Anita Haldemann (curator, director of the Kupferstichkabinett) and Len Schaller (co-curator of "The First Homosexuals").

This event is part of Super Saturdays, a collaborative initiative by Kunsttage Basel, Kunstmuseum Basel, Museum Tinguely, and Theaterfestival Basel.
