Join us for our first-ever Movie Night hosted by Adorkable Studio! We are excited to showcase talented Asian filmmakers through two engaging short films, followed by a discussion with the producer of both.

✨ Featured Shorts:
1️⃣ Single Residence Occupancy (imdb)
Follow the emotional journey of a Chinese immigrant living in San Francisco as she receives the heartbreaking news that her family's application for better housing has been denied. Discover the challenges she faces as she tries to convey this news to her children.
2️⃣ Hard Boiled Eggs (imdb)
Dive into the life of a 10-year-old Chinese American girl who overhears a mysterious phone call, leading her to suspect her mother of infidelity. As she embarks on a quest for the truth, she confronts harsh realities that she's been avoiding.

After the screenings, we’ll have a fantastic opportunity to chat with producer and writer Yuky Shen, who will join us live from Shanghai! 🗣️

初の「ムービーナイト」を開催します！アジア系映画作家による2本の短編映画を上映し、両作品のプロデューサーをお招きして対談を行います。

✨ 上映作品:
1️⃣ Single Residence Occupancy (imdb)
サンフランシスコに住む中国系移民の女性が、より良い住居への入居申請が却下されたという知らせを受け、その事実を子供たちにどう伝えるべきか葛藤する姿を描いた作品です。
2️⃣ Hard Boiled Eggs (imdb)
ある謎めいた電話を耳にし、母親の浮気を疑った10歳の中国系アメリカ人の少女が、自ら真相を突き止めようと調査に乗り出す物語です。彼女は、それまで無意識のうちに目を背けてきた厳しい現実に直面します。

上映後には、上海からオンラインで参加するプロデューサー兼脚本家のユキー・シェン氏とのトークセッションを予定しています。
ポップコーンとお茶はご用意しますが、それ以外の飲み物や食べ物は各自ご持参ください。
