This 1986 documentary features interviews and concert footage of notable Athens bands, including R.E.M., Pylon, and The B-52s. Directed, written, and shot by Tony Gayton, a recent graduate from the University of Southern California, the film was produced by Bill Cody.

💡 About the Restoration Project:
In 2023, Bill Cody donated all the original 16mm film and audio elements to the Walter J. Brown Media Archives & Peabody Awards Collection at the UGA Libraries. The funds helped cover the costs of scanning, color grading, and audio mastering to produce a DCP (digital cinema package) and a 35mm film print for projection in theaters, along with a new film negative for long-term preservation.

This project is an investment in a film that is iconically Athens, showcasing the music that helped define the city as a music hub. It has inspired countless musicians to move here and pursue their dreams!
