Workshop Overview

Explore two different approaches across two sessions:

Part 1: Create Your First Audio-Reactive Visual in TouchDesigner

• Build a visual from scratch that reacts to music in real-time.
• What you'll do:
  • Create a simple visual using TouchDesigner.
  • Make it audio-reactive with a track of your choice.
  • Explore your artistic style and visual aesthetic.
  • Learn techniques using accessible TOPs like Noise and Displace.

Instructor: CHΛU, AV artist and member of genre[fatigue] and Algorave London.

What to bring:

• Laptop with TouchDesigner Non-Commercial installed (free to download)
• Headphones 🎧
• Mouse 🖱️
• MP3 file of a track for your visual 🎵

Part 2: Algorithmic Audiovisuals with Pure Data

• Dive deeper into algorithmic audiovisual creation.
• What you'll do:
  • Get a crash course in Pure Data and GEM.
  • Learn live coding fundamentals using alien.
  • Construct an audiovisual piece combining Pd, alien, and GLSL.

Instructor: m-onz, founder of genre[fatigue] and algorithmic artist.

What to bring:

• Laptop with Pure Data Vanilla installed (free to download)
• GEM and alien installed
• Headphones 🎧

Note: Participants are encouraged to install required dependencies beforehand to maximize hands-on learning time. Installation instructions will be available on the genre[fatigue] website and GitHub.
