Bobbi Baugh: Symbols & Storytelling | Museum of Art - DeLand

About the event

🎨 Experience the Colorful Textile Collages of Bobbi Baugh! 🌟
Discover the award-winning art quilts of Bobbi Baugh, where printmaking, painting, photography, and stitchwork come together in symbolic narrative compositions.
Baugh’s textile collage artworks delve into dreams and memories, weaving stories through methods including hand printmaking, direct painting, photographic transfers, collage construction, and machine stitching, all presented as art quilts.
A graduate of Stetson University, Baugh earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Speech Communication in 1976 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Humanities/Education in 1979. With a background in watercolor during her undergraduate studies and a thirty-year career in commercial printing, Baugh has been dedicating her work to textile art and collage since 2010.
Her creations have been exhibited at notable locations such as:

  • Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, Golden, Colorado (2015)
  • Arts on Douglas Fine Art Gallery, New Smyrna Beach, Florida (2016, 2018)
  • Group exhibitions including “America Is” at Touchstone Gallery, Washington, D.C. (2019)
  • And many more prestigious venues.
Baugh’s art features a unique vocabulary of images that explore narratives of home and personal journey, often incorporating motifs like windows, child-like images of homes, and unexpected elements such as trees and water. Join her as she invites viewers to step into the quilts and explore the memories and dreams they represent.
