In this edition of Books & Booze, we will delve into The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, one of literature’s most enduring and unsettling works. When traveling salesman Gregor Samsa awakens transformed into a monstrous insect, the physical transformation leads to a profound examination of family, obligation, isolation, and the fragile nature of identity. Kafka invites us to question how easily humanity can be overlooked when someone no longer fits society’s expectations.
