Andrew J. Rodriguez is an Afro-Dominican filmmaker from the Bronx, known for blending social realism with speculative storytelling. His work explores themes of history, identity, and community, drawing from Caribbean diaspora histories and lived experiences.

His short film EL TIGUERE premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival as part of the 2025 COLECTIVO Fellowship, in partnership with Lin-Manuel Miranda. He has received the 2025 Vimeo Short Film Grant for SPACEBOI and his pilot PLUS won the 2019 Tribeca Sloan Discovery Award. Andrew was also a 2020 Valentine & Clark Emerging Filmmaker Fellow at the Jacob Burns Film Center and contributed as a staff writer for the first season of the Love in Gravity podcast. His commitment lies in telling stories that honor the past while envisioning expansive futures for underserved communities.
