About the Speaker

Scott Baker is an environmental scientist and housing policy researcher dedicated to understanding housing's role in climate change. With years of experience at Ontario's Ministry of the Environment, he focuses on creating compact, walkable communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As the founder of the Thriving in Place initiative, he advocates for zoning reform to support sustainable urban growth. His research aims to help municipalities and housing advocates quantify the climate benefits of effective land-use reform.
