Cardboard Boat Race

Join us for an exciting Cardboard Boat Race! 🛶

Materials Needed:

• Cardboard
• Tape
• Paint
• Glue
• Rope or String

Rules:

1. Only the listed items may be used to build boats. Cardboard tubes are allowed, but no wood or plastic caps.
2. Design your boat creatively! Make it look like a race car, yacht, dragon, or anything else you can imagine! 🎨
3. Use permanent markers and water-based paint for decoration.
4. No wrapping in tape; it can only be used to reinforce the bottom and seams.
5. Provide your own oar, which can be made from any material or purchased. Rafts or flat boats using legs for propulsion are not allowed.
6. All participants must wear a PFD when in or on the water; failure to do so will result in disqualification.
7. Multiple entries are allowed per team, but no individual scout may be associated with more than one entry.
8. Boats must be built before race day and pass inspection.
9. Team members must remain visible above the shoulders while in the boat.
10. Participants must finish the race without leaving the boat; exiting will lead to disqualification.
11. After the race, teams must remove their boats and any debris from the water area.
12. Sabotaging other boats or roughhousing will result in disqualification.
