About the Book:
Women in Marigold is shaped by the experience of in-betweenness. The poems ask: how does one write a life lived between cultures, languages, cities, and selves? The narrative is intentionally unstable—moving between Kathmandu and New York City, between lyric and narrative modes, between figures as disparate as Saeeda Bai and Sylvia Plath. The speaker is manifold, refracting like a gemstone that reveals different truths depending on the light.
About the Author:
Mansi Dahal is a writer from Biratnagar, Nepal, and a graduate of Columbia University's MFA program, where she was awarded the Waletzky Fellowship from the School of the Arts for her distinguished work. Her writing has been featured in POETRY, New England Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Southeast Review, Copper Nickel, Colorado Review, Tupelo Press, Palette Poetry, and elsewhere. Debutiful featured Women in Marigold in their "2026 Debut Poetry Collections You Need To Read," and Poets & Writers selected Mansi as one of their poetry fellows for the 2026 "Get the Word Out" publicity incubator program.
About the Moderator:
Megan Pinto is the author of Saints of Little Faith (Four Way Books in the US, the87press in the UK & Ireland) and the chaplet Lovesick (Belladonna* Collaborative). Megan's poems can be found in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Poets.org, Ploughshares, the Slowdown Podcast and elsewhere. She has won the Anne Halley Prize from the Massachusetts Review and an Amy Award from Poets & Writers, as well as scholarships and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing, the Port Townsend Writers' Conference and Storyknife.
