City to Sea 2026

🌅 Join us for the City to Sea 2026 Marathon & Half Marathon! 🌊

📍 Location: The Babbacombe Hotel, 33 Babbacombe Downs Road, Torquay, TQ1 3LN, United Kingdom

Event Details:
The Marathon begins at the scenic Exeter Quayside, meandering along the stunning Exe Estuary toward Dawlish Warren, where the Half Marathon kicks off. The Half then continues down the Sea Wall to Dawlish, traversing the beautiful South West Coast Path to Teignmouth and Shaldon Bridge into Shaldon. While the starting section is primarily flat tarmac with some gravel paths, prepare for hilly trails leading to Babbacombe Downs, the finishing point!

🚩 Route Highlights:

• Signs and marshals will guide you through the majority of the course.
• The vast majority features the Exe Estuary on your left, followed by the sea.
• Well-marked Coast Path with Acorn Signage.

🚌 Transportation:
For participants, there’s a convenient £8 coach transfer from Babbacombe to the start line!

🎽 Finishers’ Perks:
Finishers will receive a bespoke City to Sea medal and a delicious warm pasty!

⏳ Cut-Off Times:

• Marathon: 9 hours
• Half Marathon: 6 hours

💧 Important Notes:

• This is a cupless event; participants must bring their own cups or bottles.
• Aid stations are provided: 4 for the Marathon, 5 for 50k, and 2 for the Half Marathon.
• Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone with the Race Director’s number, a water bottle or hydration pack of at least 500ML (250ML for the Half), and cash or card for emergencies.

🍏 Race Nutrition:
While we will have aid stations, consider bringing your own fuel, especially for the longer and more strenuous sections of the course.
