Combo Chimbita

Rooted in the Colombian diaspora and shaped by New York City’s vibrant music scene, Combo Chimbita has established a unique presence in Latin alternative music. Their sound is expansive and psychedelic, driven by the shamanic intensity of vocalist Carolina Oliveros.

Formed in 2016, the group evolved from casual jams during a year-long residency at Brooklyn’s Barbès into a powerful musical force. Their chemistry is evident in tracks featuring Dilemastronauta’s dynamic rhythms, Niño Lento’s sharp guitar, and Prince of Queen’s cosmic synths, all complementing Oliveros’s captivating vocals and energetic guacharaca.

Their journey began with the EP El Corredor Del Jaguar, which set the stage for their subsequent full-length albums: Abya Yala (2017), Ahomale (2019), and Ire (2021). Each release has deepened their artistic vision, while relentless touring has crafted a live show of exceptional intensity. Combo Chimbita’s music flows with the essence of ritual, showcasing individual talent in service of a greater whole, always pulsating with life.
