Community Dark Sky Party + Open Mic Night

Join us for an enchanting evening at the Community Dark Sky Star Party + Open Mic Night! In honor of International Dark Sky Week 2026, PLAYA invites everyone to a magical night filled with cosmic beauty and local talent.

🔭 Location: PLAYA campus, 47531 Highway 31, Summer Lake, OR 97640, nestled between mile markers 81 and 82.
💲 Cost: Free for the whole family (RSVP required).

Experience the wonders of the Oregon Outback International Dark Sky Sanctuary, known for its stunningly clear night skies. This family-friendly event aims to bring the community together for an inspiring night of guided stargazing led by seasoned educators and astronomers, including Joe Minato from Dark Sky Oregon.

✨ Unleash your creativity during the Open Mic segment, where attendees can perform their hidden talents—be it music, poetry, storytelling, or comedy—in five-minute slots. Extra kudos for night-sky-themed acts!

👶 For our younger stargazers, we’ll have dedicated kids’ activities that mix arts and crafts with fascinating lessons about the night sky, fostering an early love for science and creativity.
