Community Day: Picnic, Hiking & Games in NYC

Down to Earth Community Day ⛰️
Join us for a fun-filled Fourth of July at Van Cortlandt Park! Start your day in Manhattan and travel together to enjoy an easy hike, followed by a delightful potluck, engaging games, and uplifting music!
What to Expect 🌿
- Meet at Times Square / 42 St station at 9:00 AM to catch the 1 train uptown.
- Arrival at Van Cortlandt Park around 9:50 AM, where we’ll walk into the park as a group.
- Hike the beginner-friendly John Kieran Nature Trail, approximately 1.25 miles through beautiful landscapes.
- Potluck at 11:30 AM by the lake. Bring your dish to share or chip in $10 towards the food!
- Finish the day with games and music, featuring Spades, football, soccer, frisbee dominoes, and more.
What to Bring 🥾
- A potluck dish (if not paying $10), comfortable shoes, plenty of water, and a blanket or folding chair.
- Don’t forget your sunscreen and anything you want to enjoy your picnic or games!
Important Info 📹
A film crew from BET will be joining us to cover the event for a feature story, so you might just find yourself on camera!
Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family for a day of friendship and fun!
