The course is known for its speed and has attracted an increasingly competitive field of elite runners. Currently, the men's record stands at an impressive 2:11:15, set by William Nyarondia Morwabe from Kenya in 2018, while the women's record is held by Colleen De Reuck from the USA at 2:30:51.

Under the guidance of Henrik Paulsen, who oversees elite participation, there's a focused effort to elevate the race by attracting top talents from Kenya and Ethiopia. According to Paulsen, "There is no doubt that if we achieve a race record, it will likely come from either Ethiopia or Kenya. This year's elite field is the strongest we have ever seen at the Telenor Copenhagen Marathon, and I am thrilled about the competition that awaits at the starting line!" 🥇
