[Cultural Excursion] "Hipdang-dong" - Exploring the history and gentrification of Sindang-dong

Join us for an insightful excursion into the heart of Sindang-dong! 🎉 Led by the knowledgeable Matt VanVolkenburg, this event promises to immerse you in the rich history and ongoing gentrification of the area, also known as "Hipdang-dong" due to its vibrant transformation.

🌍 Excursion Highlights:

• Explore the well-known Tteokbokki Town and small bars, cafes, and restaurants shaping the neighborhood.
• Discover the legacy of the Jungang Market, the origin of Chung Ju-yung's first business.
• Learn about hidden treasures like one-room clothing manufactories and the last remaining Culture House from the 1930s, now a museum of historical significance.
• Delve into stories of the past, including a nearly forgotten gay cruising theater and a licensed prostitution zone.
• Conclude your exploration near Dongdaemun History & Culture Park.
