Cyrus Chestnut is celebrated as one of the most gifted and innovative jazz pianists of his generation. His unique style blends gospel, classical music, and straight-ahead jazz, earning him acclaim for his soulful and virtuosic playing.

Raised in a musical family in Baltimore, Chestnut's gospel roots have significantly influenced his musical journey. His early exposure to the emotional connection between music and spirituality has infused his jazz performances with a dynamic energy that resonates deeply with audiences. He aims to "spread some feel good" through his music, echoing the uplifting nature of gospel.

His latest album, Rhythm, Melody, and Harmony, released on April 25, 2025, showcases his signature blend of rhythmic precision and emotive expression. This piano quartet recording features saxophonist Stacy Dillard, bassist Gerald Cannon, and drummer Chris Beck, pushing the boundaries of contemporary jazz with original compositions.
