Dan Bárta & Robert Balzar

When you say Dan Bárta and Robert Balzar, most fans immediately think of not only Bárta's rock wilderness with the band Alice, funk dares with J.A.R. and the distinctive chamber pop of Illustratosphere, but also his many years of cooperation with the Robert Balzar Trio. However, the format of the duo with its leader is something else – it is the exposed essence of music, where there is no room for error and where every tone, breath and movement of the finger on the fingerboard of the double bass acquires absolute meaning.

This line-up rarely appears on stage. While with the complete trio, as we know from the albums Theyories and Jedním dechem, Bárta forms a tight and rhythmically rich whole, in the duo with Balzar the music turns into an intimate conversation. It is a dialogue between one of the best European jazz double bass players and a singer who can replace an entire orchestra with his voice. Fans can look forward to original interpretations of jazz, as well as pop and rock standards and, of course, original compositions that have matured perfectly over the years.
