DBSA San Gabriel Valley Monday In-Person Meetings
Join us for the DBSA San Gabriel Valley in-person meetings dedicated to supporting those affected by bipolar disorder and depression. 👫
🕖 Join us by 7 PM! Please arrive early, as the doors lock at this time. Latecomers will be accommodated.
Our support groups have a staggering 94% effectiveness in helping members improve treatment adherence while fostering meaningful connections. These meetings provide a chance to build a social network with others who truly understand—friends or loved ones who haven’t experienced similar struggles may not grasp the complexity of these conditions.
Research in epigenetics shows the profound effects of social connectivity on gene expression. David Dobbs, in The Social Life of Genes, emphasizes that social isolation is a significant risk factor for health issues. He states:
“If you actually measure stress...social isolation is the best-established, most robust social or psychological risk factor for disease.”
You may not be able to change your genes, but you can influence their behavior. Creating a supportive environment can improve gene activity related to bipolar and depressive conditions, making them more manageable.
Loneliness can lead to serious consequences. Let’s combat that together! 🚀
